Everyone knows World of Warcraft rules the MMORPG world with over 10 million subscribers worldwide, but there’s going to be some major changes in the upcoming years as Age of Conan grows in popularity.

Funcom and EA are proud to announce that their  MMORPG game, Age of Conan, is dominating the PC sales charts in all markets around the world. In the past couple months over 700,000 gamers have signed up for Age of Conan accounts. That is almost 10 percent of WoW subscribers. Funcom and EA are hoping that the number Age of Conan subscribers will be higher then WoW by the end of next year. At the rate the game is being sold i could easily see this happening but I also think that many WoW gamers are loyal and will not make the switch even if Age of Conan is the better game.

Many of you may not know very much about Age of Conan so i will fill you in. Age of Conan is a game based off the fantasy novels of Robert E. Howard. Age of Conan is rated M, designers of the game Funcom and EA are aiming the game at older and more mature audiences. The game has plenty of strong language, skimpy chain-mail bikini armor (for female characters), and plenty of good old fashioned bloody violence. Age of Conan is also different then any other MMORPG game, it has a real-time combat system that gets away from the familiar automated combat found in every other MMORPG game on the market.
