Fallout 3: Banned In Australia?
Yesterday a rumor was released that Fallout 3 has been banned in Australia. A highly literate source put this rumor on the Gamespot PC Forums.
Around the world Australia’s game classification regime is known for its strictness in their game rating system. For example, Shellshock 2 and Blitz: The League were both refused classification in Australia because of their violent content. According to the original post Fallout 3 has been refused classification in Australia because of its’ game drug use. Australia’s game classification rules state that titles that “depict, express or otherwise deal with matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena in such a way that they offend against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults” will be refused classification.
It is not a fact yet that the game has been classified but it sure as hell looks like there’s not much hope.

Australia needs an R18+ rating for games. As it stands any game that would normally be rated higher than MA15+ gets banned here.

It had the chance but one wanker of a Attorney-General was against which was enough for it to not pass.
