Star Wars For the Wii

Since the Wii system came out many gamers including me have fantisized about using the Wii remote in a light saber duel against Darth Vador. Last Tuesday LucasArts revealed Star Wars is a working  project that will make use of Nintendo’s controller in exactly that fashion.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed  has already been announced and previewed for the next generation systems. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed  is based on the two original movies, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.  There are very high expected standards for the game and hopefully LucasArts is able to fulfill them. According to the company, Star Wars will give players “… the chance to live out their fantasies by wielding the Wii remote as a light saber while using the nunchuk controller to torment foes with their Force powers.” The game will also add an exclusive duel mode in which players can compete in head-to-head duels with their friends to determine the ultimate Jedi Master.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed  will hit stores in 2008’s spring season.

While the theatrical franchise has fallen apart, the Star Wars games have only improved. I’m impressed with Lucas Arts, and I expect Unleashed to deliver.
